EVALUATION PROCESS of 2011 SEAGULLS

© 2011 INTERNATIONAL ICT SEAGULLS PROJECT
THE EVALUATION PROCESS STARTED
The eighth year projects of International ICT Seagulls were finalized and they were delivered to the General Coordinator. For various reasons they were completed a little bit delay but however they were handed in as power point presentations, web and Blog addresses. In the beginning of this year, 23 projects registered but unfortunately only 13 projects were found qualified to be assessed.
Since 2003, it is known that more than 3,000 school partners have had advantage through those 260 projects which were totally 260. While producing solutions to the problems of the project problem topics, not only circle members but also family members and other institutions and organizations related to the project schools are also affected and thus a large group of people is hugged by the project.
In recent years, ICT Seagull circles from abroad are joining to the project as well. For instance this year United Kingdom and Nepal are the new partners of the project. Especially Kingston University, London, UK is very welcome due to contribution to the dissemination and publicity of the project which is based upon PDCA Mindset and SQC methodology.
This year our focus was the "Human dignity". "Fairplay in Sports" was the other one. Participating students formed İmece (QC) Circles and tried to bring solutions to the problems they identified. They conducted many activities to prevent the humiliation due to many types of discrimination such as; language, religion, sex, disability, race, disability, and so on. They contributed a lot to the nonviolent peace of the country and of the world. I congratulate them all from the heart.
Now, it is the evaluation time. This process will take place in two stages of the projects which have been approved: Peer- and jury-assessment. The criteria to be used for that were shared with the team leaders. Each team will assess the projects which take place within the same age/level group. Turkish and foreign teams take place within the same groups. Peer-assessment will go on until the date of July 1, 2011. The jury will review the projects until July 20. The results will be announced by the end of July. The international award ceremony will take place in Lucknow, India between November 30th and December 3rd.
I congratulate all the circle members who participated and completed this challenging journey. I wish good luck to all. Have a good summer holiday. With love and peace...
